2019 Travels

2019 took us to a few exciting places!!!!

In April, we headed to Costa Rica with our friends Tony and Sara (of previous Finnish fame) to spend 10 days exploring different parts of the country, and attend a wedding of one of our college friends.

Costa Rican highlights:

2019 was really good to us. Jeff started a new job at the end of June, and both of us are able to walk to work from our downtown apartment. After Christmas, we planned a week-long trip to Puerto Rico, somewhere both of us had been a long time ago. I went on a Spanish class trip in high school, and Jeff went for one college spring break. We celebrated the New Year in Rincon, Puerto Rico- by drinking a bottle of champagne and falling asleep by 10 pm! Puerto Rico is a beautiful island, with wonderful people. We were lucky enough to see most of the island since we rented a car and drove around. We left 1 day before the major earthquakes started in January 2020. We had spent a few days near the area that was most affected by the earthquakes, and our hearts go out to everyone who will be dealing with the literal and figurative aftershocks of this disaster for a long time.

I broke my leg playing soccer right before Christmas, so this trip was a little different for us. It forced us to move at a slower place, do less walking, and Jeff got a workout carrying me, and all of my stuff, around the island. Things are healing up nicely, and the island sun definitely helped!
